Moon is the mind, the natural Matrikaraka (the significator of mother and education). Moon is is also the karaka of mother, overall wellbeing and happiness. Moon is the Queen. Moon is the fastest moving graha (planet) and being the closest to the earth, it has a greater impact on us than other planets. The motherly nature of Moon manifests itself in one’s sense of self, adaptability, ability to nurture, emotions, intuitions, popularity and creativity.

If you have a powerful Moon in your natal birth chart then you have a steady mind which helps you in achieving anything in life. Moon is the day lord of Monday.

Moon is never a papa or malefic planet. Moon is moderately strong from the 1st to the 10th day of the bright half (shukla paksha) of the lunar month, from the 10th day of the bright half to the 5th of the dark half (krishna paksha)of the lunar month, it is very powerful. From the 5th to the last half of the lunar month, it is powerless but, is never a malefic. Moon is considered weak if placed alone in the chart and no planet is in the adjacent houses. When the mind is alone, it is sad. Success to such people come late in life after a considerable struggle. If the Moon is weak or afflicted then, it affects the mind which leads to stress and lack of mental peace. The best remedy to strengthen the Moon in your chart is to respect your mother and the mother nature. Do things/activities that can keep you connected to the mother nature.
